41 Days to go!
We are all set to leave on June 20th 2009. Our flight leaves at 08:40am Saturday 20th June from Coolangatta Airport on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. We jet off on Air Asia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where we will spend the night before catching another flight the following day direct to Banda Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia.
We plan on spending a couple of nights in Banda Aceh to a acclimatize to the intense humidity, sample the local food, set up our bikes and experience this Tsunami affected town. Then we set off on our epic adventure, cycling down the southern coastline for approximately 3 months, over 3500kms, island hoping between Sumatra, Nias, the Mentawai, Java, and finally Bali. In compliance with our visas, we will spend 2 nights in Singapore, departing from Jakarta, Java, on August 19th. Then fly back to finish the final month of the trip, which requires us to have departed Bali by September 18th 2009. |
